Nefeterius Akeli McPherson, Esq.
Born in Killeen, TX 07/24/1974

Was Ellision High School's Homecoming Queen in 1992

Worked for President Barack H. Obama's Administration as Senior Media Affairs Liaison to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), Ambassador Ron Kirk.
Received a life-saving liver transplant on November 6, 2011 from 12 year old Taitlyn Hughes. Nefeterius also represented organ donations in the 2013 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. She was selected to be among the Nations's Best Advocates 40 under 40 Top Lawyers. Her warm personality and infectious smile were contagious. She believed in celebrating life and she lived her life to the fullest. Being an Ambassador (spokesperson) for UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing), she advocated "becoming an organ donor." Nefeterius enjoyed running, exercising, reading, and football (especially the Dallas Cowboys).
Nefeteriius was inducted into the NU Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at Southern Methodist University in the Fall of 1993. Her line name was Elegance and she was the epitome of finer womanhood. Nefeterius truly embodied the principles of her beloved sorority.
Nefeterius Akeli McPherson died on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 8:40pm in Dallas, TX. Her sister, Dr. Tamara McPherson Pizzoli and her mother, Katharyn Ross McPherson are continuing Nefeterius' legacy through The Nef Gallery and the Nefeteriius Akeli McPherson Foundation. Her foundation was created July 24, 2015 in Killeen, TX in memory of Nefeterius. The foundation is non-profit and tax exempt and all donated funds will be used to help provide medicine for those IN NEED who are transplant patients (both pre and post), organ donation patients, (liver, cancer, kidney, and heart patients), plus scholarship funding.
